Jobs
Help build every ride.
We build the platform that smartly brings rides together, and we make sure every ride goes well. We're looking for people to help with that.
Why Comobi?
- You work on something that's really used every day: rides for people who want to get somewhere comfortably and on time.
- A small team, so you see the impact of your work straight away.
- We make sharing a ride obvious and easy. Fewer cars on the road, without anyone having to put in effort.

Data ScientistData · Full-time · Ghent You build the models and algorithms that make every ride more comfortable, cheaper and greener for our customers.
About Comobi
Comobi is transforming passenger transport by combining intelligent passenger clustering with premium comfort. We're building the mobility solution of the future: a customer-focused service with the comfort of individual transport, but more sustainable, more efficient and more affordable.
As a developer of tomorrow's mobility, we start at airports and international stations, and aim to grow into a global "Physical Internet" for (shared) passenger transport.
Your role
As Data Scientist, you're the brain behind our intelligent clustering. You build the models that decide which travellers ride together and when, along which route and at what price. Every improvement to your algorithms translates directly into more comfort for our customers, lower costs and less CO₂ on the road.
Key responsibilities
Modelling & optimisation
- Develop clustering algorithms. Group travellers smartly by destination, time, preferences (privacy, flexibility, cost/CO₂ impact) and available capacity.
- Optimise route and ride planning. Build models for dynamic routing, pick-up order and vehicle deployment.
- Demand forecasting. Predict passenger flows from flight schedules, train services, seasonal patterns and historical data.
- Dynamic pricing. Develop pricing models that balance comfort, cost and occupancy.
- Measure impact. Quantify and report CO₂ savings, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Data & collaboration
- Set up data pipelines. Work with the tech team on reliable, scalable processing of bookings, rides and external sources.
- From prototype to production. Integrate models into our mobility platform and follow up on how they perform in practice.
- Cross-functional collaboration. Work closely with product, operations and sales to turn insights into concrete decisions.
- Communication. Explain complex analyses clearly to the team and management.
Who are we looking for?
Essential qualifications
- Analytical background. Bachelor's or master's in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, (bio)engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Programming. Fluent in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy) and SQL.
- Machine learning. Experience with clustering, predictive models and/or optimisation techniques.
- Problem solving. Able to turn a vague operational question into a concrete, measurable model.
- Strong communicator. Able to make results understandable for non-technical colleagues.
Nice to have
- Optimisation. Knowledge of operations research, vehicle routing problems (VRP) or combinatorial optimisation.
- Geodata. Experience with geographic data, routing APIs or map services.
- Cloud & MLOps. Experience deploying and monitoring models in production.
- Domain knowledge. An affinity with mobility, logistics or transport planning.
Experience
This role suits both driven starters and experienced professionals. Salary depends on your experience and skills.
Personal qualities
- Curious. You want to understand why a model works, not just that it works.
- Pragmatic. You choose the solution with impact today over the perfect solution next year.
- Entrepreneurial. Hands-on mindset: you don't wait for the data to be perfect.
- Results-driven. Focused on measurable improvement for customers, costs and climate.
- Flexible. Comfortable in a dynamic start-up environment.
What we offer
- Impact. Your models literally determine how our service runs, from day one.
- Ownership. Room to help shape the data strategy and technical choices.
- Growth. Grow with an ambitious company scaling up internationally.
- Innovation. Work on a unique optimisation problem where mobility, sustainability and technology meet.
- Team. Work with passionate professionals who believe in our mission.
